It seems man always choose to be happy & never suffering. But there's the paradox: if you choose to be happy, you will be suffering because to be happy means to be choice less. If you don't choose if you simply remain a witness, you will be happy. So it is not a question of choosing to be happy or not: deep down it is a question of choosing between choosing & non-choosing.
But why do you suffer when you started choosing?
It's because choice divides life. It means you don't accept the whole. It means you only accept something but deny something. That which you deny will come to you, because life cannot be denied. And because you deny it, it has a power over you as you really become afraid of it.
Nothing can be denied. You can only escape. You can shut it out, but it's always there, waiting for the moment to assert.
No one choose to suffer. You have chosen not to suffer. You are doing everything to be happy & that's why you are in suffering, why you are not happy. Remember life is total, you cannot choose- it has to be lived. There will be moments of happiness & sadness.
When you are choice less, you becomes aware of yourself. now you are not worried about what happens- whatever it is, you'll live it, you'll go through it, experience it. You will gain something from it as every experience is an expansion of consciousness.

Concentrate on point on the wall.
The nature of mind is movement, it's a process. If you stop, mind becomes dead, only consciousness remains. Consciousness is your nature; mind is your activity, like walking. Consciousness is like legs- your nature. Mind is like walking- just a process.
Concentrate on a point- until it 'dissolves'- actually it's the mind that dissolves not the point. In concentration, the mind do not move, without movement it 'stops'. Once it stops, you are not related to anything outside- suddenly all bridges are broken because the mind is the bridge.
When you are concentrating on the point, mind is jumping from you to the wall & vice verse- that is a process. When the mind dissolves you cannot see the point cos really you never see the point thru the eyes- you see it thru the mind & thru the eyes. If the mind is not there the eyes cant function. If the mind is not there, the bridge is broken. The pt is real. When the mind comes back, you will see it again. But now you cannot see it, & when you cant see it suddenly you are at your centre!
